David Shapiro, MD, joined us on January 7, 2019, as an Assistant Professor. He works in the Division of Multispecialty Anesthesiology as part of the Nighthawk Service.
Dr. Shapiro comes to us from SouthPoint Surgery Center, where he worked as the Medical Director of Anesthesia. He earned his medical degree from the University of Minnesota and completed his Anesthesia residency at Naval Medical Center San Diego. His specialties include solid organ transplant, combat/trauma anesthesia, and trauma resuscitation.
Dr.Shapiro is a member of several anesthesiology and navy organizations and has also made a significant number of contributions to peer-reviewed publications, abstracts, and presentations. We are excited to have such an accomplished doctor joining us. Welcome to the department, Dr. Shapiro!
