The latest issue of The POST, UF Health’s monthly news magazine, features Catherine Price, PhD, and Patrick Tighe, MD, and describes their efforts to open the PeCAN clinic. The PeCAN clinical service allows for fluid communication among neuropsychologists, anesthesiologists, and other young physicians in an effort to protect cognitive health in patients before surgery.
“I believe we are fostering a new breed of neuropsychologists and anesthesiologists,” Price said. “They will hopefully work together in the future more frequently to address brain-anesthesia mechanisms of cognitive change and dementia.”
