Dr. Parsons joins us as an Assistant Professor of Research and comes to us from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine, where he worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurosurgery. Dr. Parsons earned his PhD in Biochemistry from Virginia Commonwealth and completed two post-doctoral studies, the first in neurology and the second in anesthesiology. His current research interests include the incidence and mechanisms of epileptogenesis in post-traumatic epilepsy associated with repetitive blast exposure, and retinal angiography as a tool for assessing outcome as related to retinal artery bubble load and for disabled submarine scenario triage. In his spare time, Travis likes mountain biking, skiing, live music, college football, and spending time with friends and family. We are excited to have such a capable and experienced professional joining us and we ask you to help us welcome him to the university and department!
