Rebecca Lovely Celebrates Retirement from UF Department of Anesthesiology after 40 Years of Service!

As you may know, Rebecca Lovely retires on March 17th, after serving over 40 years in the department. Along with this great accomplishment, she was given an award named after her, “The Department of Anesthesiology Rebecca Y. Lovely Outstanding Service Award.” She was honored with the first plaque ever given for her outstanding and dedicated service. In keeping with Rebecca’s deep commitment to serving the community, in lieu of a gift from the department, she asked that funds be donated in her and her family’s name to World Vision, a Christian humanitarian organization dedicated to working with children, families, and their communities worldwide to reach their full potential by tackling the root causes of poverty and injustice. The organization works in nearly 100 countries around the world to serve all people, regardless of religion, race, ethnicity, or gender. Rebecca specifically funded a well project that will help to bring clean deep well water to a population in need. This project has been a dream of hers for some time and the department is glad to support her and developing countries.

Mrs. Lovely was honored for her years of service with a luncheon on Friday, March 11. We wish her all the best in her future endeavors!!
