Ramachandran Ramani, MBBS, MD, joined us in January 2016 as an Associate Professor for the Division or Neuroanesthesia. He came to us from Yale University School of Medicine where he was an Associate Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology. Dr. Ramani earned his Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Surgery from Delhi University in India. He completed his Medical Degree at the Institute of Medical Education and Research in Chandigarh, India. Dr. Ramani worked at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York, for his residency training, where he was Chief Resident, and he completed a Neuroanesthesia Research Fellowship at the University of Iowa. He is also approved by the National Board of Examination in New Delhi, India, and is certified by the American Board of Anesthesiologists. Dr. Ramani’s primary research focus is in functional MRI and its applications in anesthesia. He is an active member of the Education Committee of the Society of Neuroanesthesia and Critical Care and the Postoperative Visual Loss study group. He serves as an ad hoc reviewer for many journals such as Anesthesia & Analgesia, European Journal of Neurology, and PloS ONE, just to name a few.
