The Post Anesthesia Care Unit at Shands at UF Health was awarded a Bronze level Beacon Award. This accomplishment represents one of many significant milestones on the journey to optimal outcomes and exceptional patient care.
In healthcare organizations, excellence is the sum of many complex parts. The Beacon Award for Excellence provides a road map and tools to assist critical care units on their path to excellence. The American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN) created the Beacon Award to recognize individual units that distinguish themselves by improving every facet of patient care.
Our Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) is the first in the country to receive this award. Congratulations to all of the PACU nurses here at UF Health in Gainesville, FL.
