Samsun Lampotang, PhD, and David Lizdas demonstrated an UltraSonography Trainer (UST) on Saturday, July 7, for visitors at the Cade Museum for Creativity & Invention.
The UST, designed and built at the Department of Anesthesiology Center for Safety, Simulation & Advanced Learning Technologies, allows users to interact with familiar 3D objects so that anatomical features do not distract trainees as they practice and learn ultrasonography. Visitors had the opportunity to solve puzzles using ultrasonography and answer questions on the simulator as well as use an actual ultrasound machine on themselves.
