UF Health Shands Hospital has earned a 2018 Greening the OR Recognition Award for in recognition of standard-setting innovation and environmental stewardship.
The award was given by Practice Greenhealth, an organization dedicated to environmental sustainability in health care, at the CleanMed2018 meeting in San Diego.
Our own Lauren Berkow, MD, associate professor of anesthesiology and member of the UF Sustainability Committee, was at the meeting and accepted the award on the hospital’s behalf. “We are committed to reducing the environmental impact in the operating room. As new members of Practice Greenhealth, we’re honored to receive a Greening the OR Recognition Award this year,” said Dr. Berkow.
