On Friday, November 10th, 2017, Sean Kiley, MD, along with John Downs, MD, and four residents — Scott Wasilko, MD, Jordan Miller, MD, Spencer Hyde, DO, and Mark Hotchkiss, DO — will depart for Ecuador in conjunction with Bayside Medical Missions.
The team will spend a week working with orthopedic surgeons at La Vida Surgical Center in Portoviejo, Ecuador. In addition to bringing a service to people who would otherwise not have access to it, Dr. Kiley believes practicing medicine in another part of the world will allow the residents in attendance to understand and appreciate the advantages we have here in our medical system.
Dr. Kiley hopes that this trip will inspire other faculty to lead mission trips throughout the year. We will talk again with Dr. Kiley when the team returns. Check back for more details.
