Sandra Gonzalez-Rodriguez, MD, Appointed Medical Director for CSC

Dr. Sandra Gonzalez-Rodriguez was appointed Medical Director for the Children Surgical Center (CSC) in March of 2016.

Dr. Gonzalez-Rodriguez is an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology with interests in pediatric anesthesiology, congenital heart disease, and acute pain in pediatrics. She studied and earned her medical degree from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia in Bogota, Colombia. She interned at two hospitals in Bogota: Villavicencio State Hospital and Saint Joseph Hospital. Her residency was completed in anesthesiology at Nueva Granada University-Saint Raphael Hospital. After moving to the United States, Dr. Gonzalez-Rodriguez worked as a phlebotomist at Community Blood Centers of South Florida and as a surgical assistant for Strax Institute. In 2009, Dr. Gonzalez-Rodriguez moved to Gainesville to complete her residency in anesthesiology at the University of Florida. She then went on to complete a fellowship in pediatric anesthesiology at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She returned to UF in 2014 and has been a member of our team since that time.
