Congratulations on your Grant!

Congratulations on a new R01 grant from the National Institute of Health to Dr. Anatoly Martynyuk (PI) and the research team (Dr. Nikolaus Gravenstein, Dr. Christoph Seubert and Dr. Barry Setlow from the UF Department of Psychiatry).  The purpose of this grant is to investigate the role of the limbic-hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis and gamma-aminobutyric acid type A receptor-mediated signaling in the developmental central and systemic effects of neonatal anesthesia in rodent models. As one of the reviewers stated: “The project has tremendous clinical significance, and if successful, will set the stage for a readily translatable protective therapy for infants undergoing anesthesia”.
