The Society of Neuroscience in Anesthesiology and Critical Care celebrated it’s 40th anniversary this past week right before the ASA meeting. Every year the Society recognizes one of it’s members for their outstanding teaching efforts and focus on education. Our very own, Dr. Michael Mahla, was the 2012 recipient of this prestiguous award dedicating over 30 years of his academic career to the education of residents, fellows, and medical students. He served as Program Director for the Department for 15 years, before being appointed Associate Dean for Graduate Medical Education for the College of Medicine at the University of Florida and becoming the ACGME Designated Institutional Official. We salute and honor Dr. Mahla for this outstanding achievement.
